Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yuki Nakai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derric Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Rose's choice of entrance music: Foster The People - Pumped Up Kicks. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Derric Rose!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakai fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Rose throws a jab but it's blocked by Nakai.
Nakai shoots in looking for a takedown but Rose manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nakai's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Rose counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yuki Nakai. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rose connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Nakai momentarily.
Nakai avoids the body shot from Rose.
Yuki Nakai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rose ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nakai moves away.

Rose lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Rose stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Rose thows a body shot but no joy.
Nakai uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rose.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Nakai.
Nakai is breathing heavily.
Rose lands a nice looking body shot.
Rose swings for the body but Nakai moves out of range.
Rose scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Rose slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Nakai gets cracked there but stands up to it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rose throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rose lunges at Nakai with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Nakai's hand.

Rose ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Rose punishes Nakai's body with a nice straight punch.
Rose closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Nakai quickly recovers to half guard.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Rose looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Rose is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rose lands with a punch from half guard.
Rose throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Rose is looking to advance position but Nakai won't allow it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Nakai is trying to stand up here but Rose is controlling him well.
Rose working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Rose closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nakai to the mat! Nakai manages to get full guard.

Rose really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nakai. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rose is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nakai sees it coming and defends easily.

Rose wants to control but Nakai is keeping him busy.

Rose takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rose uses his free foot to push down on Nakai's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Nakai.
Rose is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Nakai is squirming around, avoiding Rose's attempts to control the action.
A nice elbow there by Rose.
Rose tries to control but Nakai wriggling away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nakai wants to hold on but Rose pushes him away.

BOOM! Rose connects with a massive shot to the dome!
