Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Risto Korpisuo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and North Rupp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Korpisuo comes to the cage accompanied by Humpparaakki by Eläkeläiset. North Rupp will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Risto Korpisuo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, North Rupp! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Korpisuo or perhaps it was just good defense by Rupp which made him look bad. Nice sprawl there from Rupp as Korpisuo shoots in. Nice defenses there by Korpisuo. Korpisuo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rupp tries to avoid it but Korpisuo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rupp to the ground. Rupp escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Risto Korpisuo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rupp connects with a looping right hand.
A left and a right from Rupp both land. Nice combination. Rupp throws a hook but Korpisuo avoids it easily. Korpisuo on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Korpisuo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rupp.
Rupp thows a left - swing and a miss! Rupp sizes up Korpisuo with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Korpisuo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Korpisuo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Rupp trying to keep a closed guard but Korpisuo is proving a slippery customer.
Korpisuo wants to control from the top but Rupp keeps moving. Korpisuo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Korpisuo looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Korpisuo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Korpisuo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Korpisuo working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Korpisuo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rupp is keeping the position for now. Korpisuo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Korpisuo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Korpisuo wants to control from the top but Rupp keeps moving. Korpisuo is working Rupp over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Korpisuo working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Rupp's head. Rupp looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Korpisuo throwing strikes from guard but Rupp blocks nicely. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Korpisuo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Korpisuo passes into half guard. Korpisuo wants to control but Rupp is keeping him busy. Korpisuo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nice strikes from Korpisuo there. Korpisuo is pressing down on Rupp's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rupp is holding on for now. Korpisuo is working for a kimura but Rupp is defending it quite comfortably.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Korpisuo prevents Rupp from standing back up.
Korpisuo perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Korpisuo missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Rupp keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Korpisuo throwing shots but Rupp is blocking nicely. Korpisuo scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Korpisuo is just content to waste time from the top position. Rupp takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Rupp is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Korpisuo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Korpisuo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rupp swivels though and keeps the full guard. Rupp controlling the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Korpisuo works over Rupp with some ground and pound from guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Korpisuo stops Rupp from standing up. Rupp can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Korpisuo controls the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Risto Korpisuo dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Rupp looks to throw the jab but Korpisuo is out of range. Korpisuo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rupp sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Korpisuo somewhat. Korpisuo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rupp swivels and escapes. Rupp misses with an uppercut. Korpisuo misses with a takedown attempt - Rupp sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Risto Korpisuo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rupp gets caught napping as Korpisuo dives in and scores a takedown. Rupp manages to retain guard. Korpisuo throws a big right hand that misses. Rupp preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Korpisuo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Korpisuo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Korpisuo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rupp swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Korpisuo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rupp is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Korpisuo, into his guard. Rupp is looking to stand up but Korpisuo won't let him. Korpisuo controls Rupp momentarily but Rupp frees himself. Korpisuo is controlling Rupp's posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Korpisuo is trying to hold Rupp in close to prevent damage but Rupp has managed to pass into half guard.
Korpisuo wants to get back to full guard. Korpisuo works his way to full guard. Good work. Korpisuo is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Rupp frees his head nicely. Oh but Korpisuo has switched to an armbar! Rupp is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
