Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ken Maddox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 4 - 2, fighting out of New York, Ken Maddox! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Sanders! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Alyssa Summers and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maddox sizes up Sanders with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Maddox cracks Sanders with a right hand to the side of the head. Sanders works Maddox's body with a nice hook. Maddox stalks Sanders and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sanders's face. Sanders staggers backwards, shaken. Maddox misses with the combination.

and Sanders counters with a big head kick but Maddox shrugs it off. Sanders moves out of range of the strikes. Sanders closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. This has been an exciting period of action! Sanders misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Sanders creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Maddox sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. That's one minute gone in the round. Maddox gets back to half guard. Sanders is thwarting Maddox's attempts to control the position. Sanders thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Maddox to regain full guard. Maddox wants to get back to his feet but Sanders is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Maddox looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Sanders must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Sanders postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Maddox has his feet on Sanders's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Sanders showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Maddox.
Maddox lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sanders circles away quickly and effectively. Ken Maddox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanders shoots in for a takedown but Maddox shows good takedown defense. Maddox misses the shot to the body. Maddox throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Maddox fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sanders looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Nice body punch from Maddox. Maddox forces Sanders back against the cage and clinches. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sanders breaks from the clinch.
Sanders changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Maddox tries to avoid it but Sanders manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Maddox to the ground. Maddox escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanders fails in his attempt to clinch. Sanders moves in looking to clinch but Maddox pushes him off. Nice straight punches there by Maddox. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Maddox. Maddox looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Maddox moves out of range of the body kick from Sanders.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Maddox rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sanders moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Maddox misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sanders.
Sanders throws a leg kick that misses. Maddox wants to clinch but Sanders slips to the side and Sanders counters with a right hand to the body. Maddox will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Maddox misses the shot to the body. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sanders closes the distance and clinches up with Maddox, looking for a takedown. Sanders pushes Maddox against the cage but Maddox circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ken Maddox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Sanders. Sanders is looking to clinch. Maddox throws an overhand right that lands on Sanders's shoulder, as Sanders tries to avoid the shot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ken Maddox will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!

Sanders tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maddox content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Sanders working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Maddox. Sanders keeping full guard, as Maddox tries to pass. Sanders is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Maddox looking to sit in guard and control but Sanders gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Maddox wriggles free and stands up.

A jab from Maddox finds it's way through Sanders's defenses. Ken Maddox is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Maddox is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sanders. Maddox drives through and clinches with Sanders against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round. Sanders has Maddox pressed against the cage, preventing Maddox from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Maddox has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sanders avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Maddox breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Maddox scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Sloppy strikes from Sanders. Those never looked like landing. Sanders is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Maddox jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Sanders throws a sloppy head kick and Maddox moves out of range easily. Nice shot lands for Maddox. Maddox lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Maddox. Sanders shoots in for a double leg but Maddox sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Ken Maddox is winning the standup battle so far. Maddox stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Sanders is rocked! Maddox drops Sanders with a big left hand! Sanders is injured, injured bad! Maddox jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
