Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alonzo Rodriguez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Botwin takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Botwin is rocked!
It looks like D Botwin has been cut.
Rodriguez stuffs the takedown attempt from Botwin. Botwin gets slowly back to his feet.
Botwin is still on wobbly legs! Can Rodriguez finish him?
Rodriguez shoots and misses
and Botwin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Botwin seems to have recovered his senses.
Botwin misses with a body punch.
Rodriguez lands a damaging elbow.
Botwin wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Botwin's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Botwin tries to pull guard but Rodriguez holds him up against the cage and eventually Botwin drops back down to his feet.

Rodriguez is pressed up against the cage. Botwin has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rodriguez down to the mat. Rodriguez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Alonzo Rodriguez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of D Botwin.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Botwin swings around for an armbar but Rodriguez sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Botwin's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Botwin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rodriguez wants to control from the top but Botwin keeps moving.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Rodriguez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Botwin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Botwin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rodriguez manages to get himself to full guard.

Botwin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rodriguez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Botwin has Rodriguez in his guard.
Botwin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rodriguez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rodriguez throws a big right hand that misses.
Rodriguez stands up from Botwin's guard - Rodriguez perhaps looking for a knockout.
Rodriguez shoots for a double leg takedown but Botwin sprawls well. He's pushed Rodriguez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
D Botwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rodriguez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Botwin tries to avoid it but Rodriguez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Botwin to the ground. Botwin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Botwin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Botwin throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Rodriguez stumbling backwards into the cage! Rodriguez bounces back off the cage towards Botwin, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Botwin lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Botwin celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
