Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brian Carenard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heston Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carenard kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Saigon - Gotta Believe It. Gracie has chosen Animal I Have Become as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie lands with a right hand. Carenard connects with a right hand. Gracie shakes it off. Gracie lands a jab. Gracie throws a leg kick but Carenard sees it coming and checks it nicely. Gracie takes one on the button. Carenard throws a right hand that Gracie ducks under and follows up with a left that Gracie also avoids with ease. Jab, jab by Carenard - just one landing. Gracie throws a series of punches but Carenard avoids them all with ease. Gracie swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gracie shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Gracie connects with a body shot that sends Carenard's belly button to the back. Carenard tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gracie was well out of range. Poor timing from Carenard. Carenard ducks under a wild hook from Gracie. Brian Carenard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gracie takes a shot right to the bread basket. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gracie throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie misses with an uppercut. Carenard saw that one coming. Carenard works the jab nicely. Gracie takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Gracie moves forwards but Carenard connects with a nice, crisp jab. A combination from Gracie does no damage. Carenard gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Gracie takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Gracie manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Carenard on his heels. He'll look to pass Carenard's guard now, I'm sure. Carenard has his hands on Gracie's head, controlling the position. Gracie throws a big right hand that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Carenard working a defensive guard here.

Gracie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie throws a strike but Carenard rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Carenard got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Carenard has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted. Gracie lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Carenard! Carenard avoids a series of strikes thrown by Gracie.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Gracie putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Gracie tries to control but Carenard wriggling away. Gracie looking to secure an arm triangle but Carenard defends it well. Gracie is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Carenard can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carenard is trying to escape the mount.

Heston Gracie dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Carenard clobbers Gracie with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Gracie uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Carenard.
Gracie is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Carenard tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Gracie is able to avoid easily. Carenard clobbers Gracie with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Brian Carenard is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Carenard is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Carenard misses with a looping left. Gracie misses with a low kick as Carenard jumps back. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gracie is defended easily by Carenard. Gracie blocks a jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Gracie. Those never looked like landing. Gracie takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Carenard looks to land a right hand but Gracie moved out of range. Gracie pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Carenard scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Carenard changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. A jab from Carenard misses. Gracie tries for a takedown but Carenard sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Gracie walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Gracie avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Carenard but Carenard pushes him off and we're back to square one. Brian Carenard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Heston Gracie. Gracie avoids a lazy jab quite easily. A punch combination from Gracie misses. Carenard throws a good cross that connects.

Gracie throws a solid leg kick but Carenard takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Gracie. Donk. Carenard catches Gracie right on the button with a cross. Gracie lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Carenard loads up on a big right hand but Gracie slips the punch. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Carenard ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gracie moves away. Good shot there by Carenard. Gracie blocks a jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brian Carenard dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Gracie throws a shot from downtown. Carenard moves away and avoids it. Carenard buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Carenard bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Nice defenses there by Carenard. Carenard scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Gracie drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Gracie takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Gracie stopping the sweep attempt from Carenard. Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Carenard is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Carenard is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Gracie wants to pass the guard but Carenard is keeping the position. Gracie throwing strikes but missing. Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Carenard is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie throwing strikes but missing. Gracie throws a big right hand that misses. Carenard keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Carenard seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Gracie throws a big right hand that misses. Gracie postures up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Carenard scores with a punch to the head. Nice uppercut lands for Carenard. That snapped Gracie's head back.
Carenard has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Gracie slips a jab from Carenard. Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Carenard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gracie throws out a powerful jab. Carenard fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gracie manages to avoid it. Gracie has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. A head kick misses from Gracie.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Heston Gracie. I think Gracie has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
