Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marcelinho Garcia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Riku Noitalahti! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Noitalahti. Garcia shoots in and bounces Noitalahti off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Noitalahti looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Garcia throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Noitalahti works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Garcia trying to control but Noitalahti is working from the bottom. Garcia working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Noitalahti doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia is stalling in the full guard. Garcia throwing strikes from guard but Noitalahti blocks nicely. Garcia wants to control from the top but Noitalahti keeps moving. Garcia throws a big right hand that misses. Garcia trying to control but Noitalahti is working from the bottom. Garcia sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Noitalahti's guard. Noitalahti is looking to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garcia works his foot free and advances to mount. Garcia wants to finish this one by submission but Noitalahti is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Garcia. Noitalahti is in a horrible position here. Garcia smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Garcia controlling from the full mount. Garcia wants to finish this one by submission but Noitalahti is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Garcia.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia tries to control but Noitalahti wriggling away. Noitalahti is looking to improve his position but Garcia isn't that keen on the idea. Garcia moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Noitalahti has worked his arm free - good work by Noitalahti!

Noitalahti is not content to let Garcia control the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Garcia wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Noitalahti, who protects the arm well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Noitalahti ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Garcia moves away. Garcia closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Garcia lands in his opponent's guard. Noitalahti keeping moving, preventing Garcia from controlling successfully. Garcia controls from within his opponent's guard. Garcia advances position into side control! Noitalahti is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Garcia has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Garcia wants to control but Noitalahti is keeping him busy. Garcia scores with punches from side control. Garcia is looking to take a break and control but Noitalahti is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garcia tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Garcia has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Garcia thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Garcia blocks the strikes from Noitalahti.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia looks up at the clock and then as Noitalahti takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Garcia smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Noitalahti tries to buck Garcia off but Garcia is having none of it. Garcia staying calm. Noitalahti tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Garcia wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Noitalahti is trying to escape the position but Garcia is controlling the position. Garcia goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Noitalahti has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Garcia but great work by Noitalahti. Garcia manages to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Garcia is pressing down on Noitalahti's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. This has been an exciting period of action! Garcia is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Noitalahti postures up and lands a big shot to Garcia's brow. Garcia has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Noitalahti can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Noitalahti throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Garcia works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Garcia avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Noitalahti throws and elbow that misses. Garcia uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Noitalahti's guard. Nice move by Garcia! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Garcia not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcelinho Garcia dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Noitalahti lands a left and a right that sends Garcia crashing to the canvas! Noitalahti dives into mount looking to finish!
It looks like Marcelinho Garcia has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Noitalahti postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Garcia out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Noitalahti goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
