Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Uriah Heath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Drew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Drew is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Uriah Heath!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Drew!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Drew scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Heath is trying to maintain the position but Drew is very close to passing his half guard.
Drew seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Heath does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Heath is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Drew stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Horrible takedown by Drew or perhaps it was just good defense by Heath which made him look bad.
Drew will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Drew wants to clinch up but Heath keeps it at a distance.
Drew looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Heath is fending him off so far but Drew persists. Nope, Heath circles away and we're back to standing.
Uriah Heath has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Drew.

Heath wants to control the pace but Drew is squirming around nicely.
Drew is looking to get to half guard.

Heath stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

and Drew counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Drew is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Heath gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Heath jumps guard and drags Drew to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Heath shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Heath was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Drew should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Heath wants to take his opponent's back but Drew doesn't allow it.

and Drew counters with a good low kick that Heath was not able to check.
Horrible takedown by Heath or perhaps it was just good defense by Drew which made him look bad.

Heath bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Heath tries to move into full mount but can't pass Drew's legs.
Heath advances to mount.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Heath wants to finish this one by submission but Drew is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Heath.
Drew is looking to improve his position but Heath isn't that keen on the idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Heath forces the positional change into back control.

Drew defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Heath's arms.
Heath gets his hands free as Drew looks to control.

Drew is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Drew manages to reverse the position and now he's in Heath's guard. Nice work there by Drew.
Heath wants to stand and escape but Drew is having none of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Drew gets to his feet - Heath follows without any prompting.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Heath.

Drew drives through and clinches with Heath against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Uriah Heath dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Drew shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Heath but Heath pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Heath looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Heath is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Heath being controlled here momentarily.
Heath wants to stand but Drew is controlling his posture from full guard.
Drew manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Heath tries to hold on but Drew pushes him away.

Drew with the ground and pound from mount.
Heath working to try and regain half guard.
Drew trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Heath tries to lock up and control but Drew gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Drew prevents Heath from getting the reversal.

Heath is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Heath tries to reverse the position but Drew maintains control.

Heath regains full guard. Nicely done.

Heath throws his legs up looking for a submission but Drew uses it to pass to side control.
Heath tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Drew wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Heath is trying to stand.

Heath is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Heath pushes Drew off looking to stand but Drew dives back in and keeps control.
Heath is looking to improve his position.
Heath wants to control but Drew is keeping busy.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Heath bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Heath decides to stand back up. Heath steps back and let's Drew get back to his feet.

Drew clinches with his opponent.

Drew drags the fight down to the ground.
Drew trying to strike off his back.

Heath avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Heath really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Heath trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Drew is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Heath being controlled here momentarily.

Heath drops back, looking for a kneebar! Drew looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Drew looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Drew!
Drew remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Heath wants to get back to his feet but Drew is dominant here and he's now got Heath's back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Uriah Heath will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Drew must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Heath is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Drew is surviving well by controlling Heath's body position as best he can.
Drew is looking to improve his position but Heath isn't that keen on the idea.

Heath shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Drew's guard.

Drew fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Heath makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Heath.
Drew would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Heath looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Drew puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Heath is trying to escape back to his feet but Drew uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Heath manages to work his way to half guard, despite Drew's best efforts.
Drew is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Heath!

Heath somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
Heath misses with a hook.
Heath fails with an attempt to clinch.

Drew looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Heath!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Drew looking to control but Heath is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Jack Drew has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Jack Drew comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Heath has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
