Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Maverick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maverick has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black shoots in and drives through. Maverick sprawls well.
Maverick is breathing heavily.

Black connects with a leg kick. Maverick looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Black forces Maverick back against the cage and clinches.
Black breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Black lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Black lands a nice hook to Maverick's body. Maverick takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Black tries to clinch but Maverick moves out of range.
Good leg kick by Black there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Black swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Maverick avoids the head kick by Black.
Black lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Maverick swats away the attempt to clinch by Black.
Black pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Maverick back to the cage. Black follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Black lands a left and a right that send Maverick crashing to the mat, dazed. Black thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Maverick is rocked!
It looks like Jason Maverick has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Black closes the distance looking for a takedown. Maverick stuffs it but Black still has hold of him. Black picks Maverick up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Black slams Maverick to the floor and that's really hurt Maverick - he doesn't know where he is! Black throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
