Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jose De Souza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Koichi Kamei! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kamei stuffs the takedown attempt from De Souza. De Souza gets slowly back to his feet. De Souza shoots and misses and Kamei counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. De Souza shoots and misses and Kamei counters with a straight right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose De Souza. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kamei lands a jab to De Souza's midsection. De Souza shoots and misses and Kamei counters with a stiff right hand. Kamei is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. De Souza has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from De Souza there as he acknowledges the shot. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kamei lands an overhand right. De Souza tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Kamei clobbers De Souza with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. De Souza takes a body punch but keeps moving. De Souza is breathing heavily. Kamei scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
That's one minute gone in the round. Kamei throws a good cross that connects.
Kamei throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent De Souza stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. De Souza's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kamei connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! De Souza scrambles back to his feet.
De Souza is rocked! De Souza slips under a jab. Oh De Souza is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Koichi Kamei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kamei measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes De Souza! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Koichi Kamei!
