Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kyle The Kid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janko Krnjak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Janko Krnjak will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Donald Grub and Daniel Bishop.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from The Kid.
Krnjak shoots in but The Kid avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Krnjak misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
The Kid shoots in and drives through. Krnjak sprawls well.

Kyle The Kid has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Janko Krnjak.
Krnjak closes the distance and clinches up with The Kid, looking for a takedown. Krnjak pushes The Kid against the cage but The Kid circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
The Kid misses with a takedown attempt - Krnjak sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
The Kid shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Krnjak but Krnjak pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The Kid is working for takedown but Krnjak is calmly controlling the position for now.
Krnjak is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. The Kid is defending well for now.
Krnjak has had enough of the clinch but The Kid keeps him there for the moment.

The Kid has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Krnjak regains guard immediately.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and The Kid counters with a single leg into guard. Krnjak didn't expect that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The Kid's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Krnjak is trying to push The Kid away but The Kid has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Krnjak is pushing The Kid up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Krnjak is trying to maintain a safe position but The Kid gets an underhook and turns Krnjak into the cage.

The Kid shoots in and bounces Krnjak off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The Kid has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The Kid really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Krnjak shoots in looking for a takedown but The Kid manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Krnjak's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
The Kid shoots for a double leg takedown but Krnjak sprawls well. He's pushed The Kid's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kyle The Kid will probably get the nod.

Kyle The Kid overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The Kid has a takedown stuffed.
The Kid throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Krnjak's waist but Krnjak gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing The Kid off to one side.

The Kid shoots in looking for a takedown. Krnjak tries to sprawl out of it but The Kid keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Krnjak manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kyle The Kid.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for The Kid, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
