Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cantrell Willis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kirill Mitrofanov!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Willis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mitrofanov as he jumps to the side.
Willis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Willis dives in and grabs Mitrofanov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mitrofanov pushes down on Willis's head and hops out.
Willis shoots and misses
and Mitrofanov counters with a nice low kick that buckles Willis's knee momentarily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cantrell Willis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Willis checks a low kick from Mitrofanov.
Willis misses with a wild combination.
Willis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Mitrofanov walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Willis checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Willis connects with a solid leg kick.
Willis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mitrofanov was covering up waiting for the punch and Willis finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Mitrofanov is looking to stand up but Willis isn't so interested in that idea.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mitrofanov is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Mitrofanov wants to break the clinch but can't.
Mitrofanov is trying to push Willis away but Willis has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Mitrofanov avoiding damage as Willis throws knees to the body.
Mitrofanov wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Willis has him pressed against the cage.
Willis makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Mitrofanov is fighting off a takedown attempt but Willis is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Mitrofanov to the mat. Mitrofanov regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Willis trying to control but Mitrofanov is working from the bottom.

Willis stops Mitrofanov from standing up.
Mitrofanov wants to get back to his feet but Willis passes into half guard.
Mitrofanov is looking to get back to is feet but Willis passes into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mitrofanov wants to get back to his feet but Willis is dominant here and he's now got Mitrofanov's back!

Mitrofanov is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Mitrofanov is covering up but some of the strikes from Willis are getting through and doing damage.

Mitrofanov is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Willis gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Mitrofanov controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Willis lands a shot to the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mitrofanov is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Willis scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mitrofanov wants to stand back up but Willis manages to pass into side control.
Mitrofanov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Willis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mitrofanov is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Willis has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Mitrofanov on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Willis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mitrofanov takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Willis gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.

Mitrofanov has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Willis lands a massive shot to the side of Mitrofanov 's head and he's out cold! Willis jumps to his feet and milks the crowd!
