Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Brunner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pablo Escobar! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brunner lands with a nice combination. Escobar backs away looking to recover. Brunner throws a hook to the side of Escobar's head but Escobar sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Escobar lands a nice shot to the body.
Escobar jabs Brunner to the body, keeping him at a distance. Escobar avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Escobar scores with a body shot.
Brunner on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Brunner darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Brunner sitting and controlling from the half guard. Escobar is trying to escape back to his feet but Brunner uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Brunner tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Brunner thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Escobar knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Brunner misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Escobar is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Brunner has just dragged him back down to the mat. Escobar managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Brunner.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Brunner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Escobar keeps working. Escobar is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Brunner swings around for an armbar but Escobar sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Brunner's guard. Escobar wanted to stand there but Brunner had control of the position. Brunner is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Escobar would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Escobar pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Brunner is keeping the position for now. Brunner throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Escobar escapes and throws Brunner's legs to the side, diving into side control! Escobar advances nicely into full mount. Brunner tries to hold on but Escobar postures up. Brunner is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Poor strikes thrown by Escobar there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Brunner defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Escobar. Escobar misses with a head shot. Brunner working to try and regain half guard.
Brunner wants to control but Escobar is having none of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Brunner manages to regain half guard. Good work. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brunner is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Escobar pulls his head out easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mike Brunner will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Brunner looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Escobar rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Brunner moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Escobar fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brunner manages to avoid it. Escobar avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Mike Brunner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Escobar throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Escobar gets tackled into the cage by Brunner. Brunner maintains the clinch. Brunner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Escobar throws a sloppy head kick and Brunner moves out of range easily. Brunner punishes Escobar's body with a nice straight punch. Brunner misses with a leg kick. Escobar stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Brunner walks into a jab.
It looks like Mike Brunner has been cut. Escobar avoids the head kick by Brunner.
Escobar misses the shot to the body. Escobar throws a nice looking combination but Brunner bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Escobar keeps the fight on the outside. Escobar lands a lovely overhand right.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brunner lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Oh Brunner is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Escobar connects with a body shot. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Brunner shoots for a double leg takedown but Escobar sprawls well. He's pushed Brunner's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Brunner takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Crack! Escobar connects with the perfect overhand right and Brunner falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Escobar!
