Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Stout!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stephan Lovkiss!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lovkiss throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Stout gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Stout is bucking up trying to escape but Lovkiss cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Lovkiss with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Stout reaches up to try and control the position but Lovkiss seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Stout rolls and tries to escape and now Lovkiss has his back!
Lovkiss is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Stout has gone for a leg lock! Lovkiss slips out almost immediately though and dives into Stout's guard.

Stephan Lovkiss showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Stout tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Lovkiss manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Sam Stout has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephan Lovkiss.
Stout fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Lovkiss has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Lovkiss tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Stout manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Stout shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lovkiss sprawls well. Lovkiss wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Stout gets slowly back to his feet.
Stout closes the distance and clinches up with Lovkiss, looking for a takedown. Stout pushes Lovkiss against the cage but Lovkiss circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lovkiss will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Lovkiss fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stout manages to avoid it.

Sam Stout is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Stout walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Lovkiss checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stout is defended easily by Lovkiss.

Stout looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lovkiss is fending him off so far but Stout persists. Nope, Lovkiss circles away and we're back to standing.

Stout tries to keep at a distance but Lovkiss has taken the fight into the clinch.

Lovkiss shoots in for a double leg but Stout sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Stout shoots in looking for a takedown. Lovkiss tries to sprawl out of it but Stout keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lovkiss manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lovkiss tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stout sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lovkiss somewhat.
Lovkiss swats away the attempt to clinch by Stout.
Stout misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Lovkiss misses with a two punch combination.

Stout closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lovkiss's guard.

Lovkiss had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stout defends it easily.
Lovkiss is trying to control the position but Stout postures up.
Stout has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Stout passes Lovkiss's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Stephan Lovkiss is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
