Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nate Leissner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mickey O Neil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leissner comes to the cage accompanied by Feuer Frei. Mickey O Neil has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Nate Leissner's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nate Leissner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mickey O Neil! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksandr Martynov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! O Neil throws a leg kick but Leissner checks it. Leissner fails with an attempt to clinch.
O Neil lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Leissner circles away quickly and effectively. O Neil stalks Leissner and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Leissner's face. Leissner staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Nate Leissner has been cut. O Neil cracks a nice hook into Leissner's ribs. O Neil looks to score with a jab to the body but Leissner is just out of range. Leissner has closed the distance and engaged O Neil in a clinch.
Leissner is trying to trip O Neil. He has hold of a leg but O Neil is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Leissner persists though and gets the takedown into guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if O Neil can do anything to dispel that myth. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Leissner trying to control the position from guard on top but O Neil is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Leissner is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. O Neil keeping moving, preventing Leissner from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Nate Leissner wasn't doing enough on the ground. Leissner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. O Neil tries to avoid it but Leissner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag O Neil to the ground. O Neil escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Some wild striking there from O Neil.
O Neil motions for Leissner to come forward. O Neil throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Some wild striking there from O Neil.
Leissner scores a takedown into full mount! Leissner tries to control but O Neil wriggling away. Leissner controlling the pace for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Leissner sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Leissner tries to control but O Neil wriggling away. O Neil tries to hold on but Leissner postures up. Leissner looking to secure an arm triangle but O Neil defends it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. O Neil is squirming around, avoiding Leissner's attempts to control the action. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Leissner with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Leissner throwing strikes here but O Neil is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Leissner content just to control the position here. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. O Neil is squirming around, avoiding Leissner's attempts to control the action. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Leissner is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but O Neil is surviving well by controlling Leissner's body position as best he can. Nate Leissner dominated that round. The cut man is working on Nate Leissner's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
O Neil throws a right and a left that Leissner avoids nicely. Leissner dodges the punch combination from O Neil.

and Leissner counters with a low kick, right behind O Neil 's knee. Mickey O Neil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. O Neil tries to sprawl but Leissner drives through with a takedown into half guard. Leissner is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and O Neil defends it well. Leissner perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Leissner in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. O Neil tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Leissner!
