Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Willie Mays (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Stocks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Willie Mays! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Stocks! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mays shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Stocks's guard. Mays has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Stocks is proving hard to escape from. Mays slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Stocks has one of Mays's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage. Stocks gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Mays trying to control but Stocks is having none of it. Mays throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Stocks because Mays loaded up on that one.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mays misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Stocks tries to lock up and control but Mays gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Mays has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Stocks keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Mays looking to ground and pound but Stocks is blocking nicely. Stocks is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Stocks is looking to improve his position but Mays isn't that keen on the idea. Stocks tries to lock up and control but Mays gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Stocks looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Mays is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Stocks knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Stocks for a finish.

Stocks stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mays swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Nice work. Mays shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Stocks defends it nicely. Mays tries to clinch up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stocks looks for a takedown but Mays sprawls well. Stocks shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mays pinned against the cage. Mays gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Mays will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mays plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Mays is breathing heavily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stocks fails to land the takedown. Willie Mays has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Stocks. Mays misses with a wild combination.

Stocks is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Mays struggling a bit here. Stocks trying to control the position but Mays is working away. Stocks is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mays has escaped the position, nice work there. Mays is being controlled here. That's three minutes gone in the round. Stocks swings around for an armbar but Mays sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Stocks's guard. Mays throws and elbow that misses. Stocks uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mays's guard. Nice move by Stocks! Mays keeping moving, preventing Stocks from controlling successfully. Mays trying to keep a closed guard but Stocks is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mike Stocks showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Mays gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Mays is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stocks is aware though and is defending well. Stocks with a flurry of punches that miss. Stocks drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mays manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Stocks has Mays in his guard. Stocks keeping moving, preventing Mays from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stocks wants to stand but Mays is controlling the position. Mays might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Stocks keeping moving, preventing Mays from controlling successfully. Mays got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stocks has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mays has managed to get both his arms back between Stocks's legs - danger averted. Stocks takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Stocks looking to control but Mays passes into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Mays wants to take a breather but Stocks is having none of it. Mays missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Stocks keeping control of the position. Stocks wants to get back to full guard. Stocks is not content to let Mays control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Willie Mays. Mays shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Stocks defends it nicely. Stocks throws a head kick that misses. A head kick misses from Stocks. Mays tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stocks sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mays somewhat. Stocks scores with a takedown into Mays's guard. Mays looking for a sweep. Not yet Mays, not yet.

Mays has his foot on Stocks's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stocks works his way back into a safe position though. Mays being controlled here, momentarily. Mays working for submissions but it's allowed Stocks to get to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Mike Stocks. I think Stocks has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
