Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ray Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Maddox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams comes to the cage accompanied by No More Mr. Nice Guy. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ray Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 2, fighting out of New York, Ken Maddox!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Chad Campbell and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good standup being displayed there by Williams as he connects with a hook.
Williams throws a one two combo.


It looks like Ken Maddox has been cut.
Maddox uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Williams.

Maddox scores a takedown into full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maddox prevents Williams from getting the reversal.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Maddox working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Williams slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.
Williams is staying active underneath Maddox, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Maddox stalling away here and it's allowed Williams to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Williams can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Maddox controls the pace.

Maddox working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Maddox slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maddox throws a big right hand that misses.
Williams controls Maddox momentarily but Maddox frees himself.

Williams keeping moving, preventing Maddox from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ken Maddox.
Maddox will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Williams lands a jab to the nose.
Williams steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Maddox.
Williams bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Williams doesn't manage to clinch there - Maddox circles away.

Williams throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Williams keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Maddox throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Williams sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Maddox keeps the fight on the outside.
Maddox throws a right and a left that Williams avoids nicely.
Williams throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Maddox fails with a takedown attempt.
Williams doesn't manage to clinch there - Maddox circles away.
Williams avoids a punch combination nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Williams misses with a series of wild punches.
Maddox looks to land a left hand but Williams moved out of range nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ken Maddox will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Williams buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Williams dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Maddox. That did some damage!
Maddox lands with a right hand.
Williams wants to clinch.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
A big left from Williams misses.
Williams scores with a jab to the head.
Maddox checks a leg kick.
Williams scores with a hook to the body. Maddox takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Ray Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Williams buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Williams lands a left and a right that send Maddox crashing to the mat, dazed. Williams thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Maddox is rocked!
Williams circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Maddox to the canvas! Maddox doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Williams keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ray Williams!
