Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Diego De Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Diego De Santiago!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Matheus Silva and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Santiago tries to clinch there but Silva circles away.

Silva moves into range and clinches up with De Santiago.

Silva has dropped down and is working for a takedown. De Santiago is trying to keep an underhook but Silva manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
De Santiago works his way to full guard. Good work.

De Santiago has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Silva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

De Santiago escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Silva gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Silva avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
De Santiago is trying to keep Silva in close.
De Santiago is pulling down on Silva's head to control his posture.
De Santiago tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Silva postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but De Santiago manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Silva has De Santiago in his guard.
Silva wants to get back to his feet but De Santiago is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
De Santiago engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Silva wants to stand and escape but De Santiago is having none of it.
De Santiago postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
De Santiago controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ricardo Diego De Santiago hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

A momentary lapse in concentration from De Santiago enables Silva to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. De Santiago manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
De Santiago is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Well, if De Santiago is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

De Santiago is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Silva defends it well.
De Santiago is taking a breather. Silva says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
It looks like De Santiago might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

De Santiago is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Silva has managed to free his arm - good work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
De Santiago not doing much here.
De Santiago wants to free his trapped foot but Silva is holding on for dear life with his legs.
De Santiago wants to take a breather but Silva is having none of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Silva wants to get back to his feet.
Silva is breathing heavily.
De Santiago content to control rather than advance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ricardo Diego De Santiago dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


De Santiago is trying hard to land a takedown here. Silva sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
De Santiago tries to land a front kick but Silva steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
De Santiago cracks Silva with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Anderson Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

De Santiago clinches up against the cage.

De Santiago tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Silva smiles and moves away.

Silva manages to get an easy takedown there - catching De Santiago on his heels. He'll look to pass De Santiago's guard now, I'm sure.

Silva got a little sloppy there for a moment and De Santiago has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Silva has managed to get both his arms back between De Santiago's legs - danger averted.

De Santiago wants to sweep here but Silva controlling him for the moment.

De Santiago has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Silva doesn't defend quickly enough and De Santiago has managed to lock this one up! Can Silva escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to De Santiago on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ricardo Diego De Santiago!
