Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Franco Paolini!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nemesio Magellan!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magellan lets loose with a powerful body kick. Paolini will feel that in the morning.
Paolini rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Magellan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Magellan misses with a double jab.
Magellan scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Magellan closes the distance and clinches.
Paolini's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Magellan creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Magellan digs a right hand into Paolini's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Paolini's gas tank.
Paolini is breathing heavily.
A left hand lands to the body for Magellan.
Magellan lands a right hand that snaps the head of Paolini backwards.
It looks like Franco Paolini has been cut.
Magellan lands a big uppercut and Paolini is down! He's in big trouble - Magellan follows him to the mat!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Magellan is pressing down on Paolini's thigh, looking to free his foot. Paolini is holding on for now.
Magellan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Paolini is just riding it out for now. Magellan eventually gives up the hold.
Magellan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Magellan is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Paolini is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Nemesio Magellan!
