Jones shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Van Der Merwe manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jaap Van Der Merwe.
Van Der Merwe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Van Der Merwe off to one side.

No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Jones closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Van Der Merwe did well to prevent Jones getting side control.
