The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grey looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Grey is pushing down on Jakes's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jakes is fighting to maintain full guard but Grey has managed to sneak the leg through.

Jakes wants to get back to his feet but Grey is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Jakes had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Grey is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Jakes Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Grey's back instead.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jakes is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Grey. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Jakes lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Grey hold on?!

Grey breaks Jakes's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
