Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Spike Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ray Age! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Kavanagh and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Age closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Age trying to control the action but Smith is working from the bottom. Sloppy strikes there by Age. Age working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Smith tries to improve position but can't. Age in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Smith is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ray Age!
