Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jax Teller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elyas Pical (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jax Teller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Elyas Pical!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Teller. Beautiful body shot.
Teller wants to clinch up but Pical keeps it at a distance.
Pical fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Teller checks it well.
Pical displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Teller.
Teller fails to land with a series of punches.
Pical misses with a head kick.
Teller ducks under a wild hook from Pical.
Teller avoids a kick to the body.
Teller cracks Pical with a good jab.

Teller shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Pical avoids a series of strikes thrown by Teller.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Teller trying to control but Pical is having none of it.
Teller looking to ground and pound but Pical is blocking nicely.

Teller throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pical can do anything to dispel that myth.
Teller thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Pical wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Teller.
Pical wants to hold on but Teller pushes him away.
Teller misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Pical is desperately trying to improve his position but Teller has a good base and remains in mount.

Teller throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Pical because Teller loaded up on that one.
Teller throwing strikes here but Pical is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Teller throws some wild stikes that Pical manages to avoid easily.
Teller has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Teller lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Teller is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Pical to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Pical shrugs it off.
Pical avoids a series of strikes thrown by Teller.

Teller unloads with some shots from mount but Pical bucks and avoids them well.
Pical is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Teller controlling from mount.
Teller pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Teller throws some wild stikes that Pical manages to avoid easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pical is working to get back to half guard.
Teller pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jax Teller dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Pical tries to keep at a distance but Teller has taken the fight into the clinch.
Teller lands with a right to the head.

Teller ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Teller no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Teller controls Pical momentarily but Pical frees himself.

Teller has his feet on Pical's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Pical changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Teller tries to avoid it but Pical manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Teller to the ground. Teller escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Teller lands with a nice combination. Pical backs away looking to recover.
Teller is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Pical attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Pical shoots in for a takedown but Teller shows good takedown defense.

Teller darts in and clinches Pical up against the cage.
Pical tries for a takedown but Teller manages to get underhooks.
Jax Teller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Elyas Pical.
Pical is breathing heavily.

Teller turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Teller manages to end up in side control.

Teller is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pical knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Pical is trying to control Teller's posture but Teller avoids it.
Teller is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Pical will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Teller tries for a kimura but Pical is defending well.

Pical is trying to get back to half guard.

Teller thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Pical is looking for a sweep.

Teller decides to stand up, so the ref orders Pical to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pical tries to score with a low kick but Teller moves his leg out of the way.

Teller closes the distance and pushes Pical back into the cage.
Pical scores with a shot to the side of Teller's head.
A nice left hand lands by Pical.

Pical manages to break the clinch.
Pical looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Teller throws a series of punches but Pical avoids them all with ease.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Teller.
Pical throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Pical moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Teller is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pical's half guard.
Teller not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Teller prevents Pical from improving his position.

Teller is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pical is just riding it out for now. Teller eventually gives up the hold.
Teller trying to control the action but Pical is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jax Teller dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Pical connects with a leg kick. Teller looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Pical tries to work over Teller's front leg with a kick but Teller checks it.
Teller will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jax Teller is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pical misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
No luck for Pical with that takedown attempt.

Pical fails with the takedown.
Teller closes the distance but Pical moves to the side
and Pical counters with a head kick. That will keep Teller thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Teller doesn't manage to clinch there - Pical circles away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Pical enables Teller to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pical manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Teller gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Teller scores with a one two! Pical had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Pical circles away from the clinch attempt.
Pical throws a right hand that Teller ducks under and follows up with a left that Teller also avoids with ease.
Teller is looking to clinch but Pical is avoiding it.
Teller punishes Pical's body with a nice straight punch.

Teller instigates a clinch.

Teller pulls Pical into guard.
Pical trying to stand up but can't free himself from Teller's guard.
Teller has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Pical trying to move into half guard but instead Teller has managed to sweep!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Teller throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Teller gets to his feet - Pical follows without any prompting.
Pical lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Teller has closed the distance and engaged Pical in a clinch.
Teller is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pical can do to turn this around?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Pical swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Teller drags the fight down to the ground.
Teller is trying to keep Pical in close.

Teller looking for a guillotine here but Pical defends easily.
Teller is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pical wants to stand but Teller has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jax Teller wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Teller showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pical.
Pical swats away the attempt to clinch by Teller.
Elyas Pical seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Teller staying out of range there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Teller looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pical is fending him off so far but Teller persists. Nope, Pical circles away and we're back to standing.

Jax Teller showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Teller has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
