Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Strifes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gunner Malone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malone has chosen Jimmy Hendrix - Vodoo Child as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malone smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

It looks like Jacob Strifes has been cut.
Malone swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Strifes wants to clinch.
Strifes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Malone throws an off balance right hand

and Strifes counters with a takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Strifes trying to control the action but Malone is working from the bottom.
Malone regains half guard.

Strifes is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Malone defends it well.
Strifes not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Strifes thows a huge punch but Malone dodges it nicely.

Malone on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Malone is staying active underneath Strifes, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Malone trying to hold on to Strifes's head to control him but Strifes postures up.
Strifes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Malone keeps working.
Strifes looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Malone with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Strifes is trying to control the action in half guard but Malone is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Strifes misses with a head shot. Malone uses the momentum to regain guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Strifes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Malone keeping moving, preventing Strifes from controlling successfully.
Strifes thows a big elbow that misses.
Strifes trying to control but Malone is working from the bottom.
Strifes throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Malone has control of Strifes's left arm, preventing Strifes from doing any damage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jacob Strifes.
Strifes takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Gunner Malone is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Malone throws a right and a left that Strifes avoids nicely.
A solid leg kick lands there for Malone.

Malone displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Strifes.
Strifes has a takedown stuffed.
Malone slaps away a takedown attempt from Strifes, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Strifes is breathing heavily.
Malone tries to bum rush Strifes with a series of wild strikes but Strifes uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Strifes wants to clinch up but Malone keeps it at a distance.

Malone lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Strifes shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Malone sprawls well. Malone wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Strifes gets slowly back to his feet.
Strifes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Malone's waist but Malone gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Strifes off to one side.

Malone loads up on a big right hand but Strifes slips the punch.
Malone throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Strifes shoots in but no luck this time.
Malone connects with a single shot there.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Malone tries a low kick but Strifes avoids it.
Malone lands with a good body shot.
Malone scores with a hook to the body. Strifes takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Malone scores with a decent looking hook.
Strifes's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Malone connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Strifes scrambles back to his feet.
Strifes blocks a jab.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Malone feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Strifes sprawling to the canvas! Strifes rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Malone finish him?!

Strifes is rocked!
Malone with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Oh Strifes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Malone knocks out Strifes with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Malone before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Malone picks up the big W with a huge KO!
