PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Reece Edward Duenas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duenas kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is California Gurls. Lee has chosen Fatboy Slim - Right Here Right Now as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duenas moves forwards but Lee connects with a nice, crisp jab.
A low kick from Lee is predictable there
letting Duenas counter with a right hand.
Lee takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Lee scores with a jab.
Duenas swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Lee.
Lee lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Lee lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Duenas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lee tries to avoid it but Duenas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lee to the ground. Lee escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lee fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Duenas displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lee throws out the jab.
Lee throws a head kick but Duenas moves out of range.
Lee throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Lee moves into range and connects with a jab.
Lee plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Dave Lee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Duenas bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Lee is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Duenas.

Lee lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Duenas at a distance.
Lee scores with the left hand. Duenas knows he should have avoided that one.
Duenas tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lee was well out of range. Poor timing from Duenas.
A nice leg kick lands there from Lee.
Lee misses with an uppercut. Duenas saw that one coming.

Duenas just misses with a punch to the body.
Duenas takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Lee is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Lee has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Lee throws a looping overhand right but Duenas ducks down to avoid it.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Duenas tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lee was well out of range. Poor timing from Duenas.
Duenas fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lee.
Duenas uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lee.
Duenas is looking to wear down Lee with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Duenas thows a body shot but no joy.

and Lee counters with a thumping low kick.
Lee throws a jab when Duenas was well out of range.
Lee thuds his right hand into Duenas's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Lee is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

A big left from Lee misses.
Lee throws a hook but Duenas blocks it.
Lee wants to land a leg kick but Duenas is out of range.
Duenas takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Lee's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Duenas connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Lee scrambles back to his feet.

Duenas closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lee has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Duenas is working away from the top position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Duenas's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Duenas throws a low kick, looking for Lee's leg but Lee calmly moves out of range.
Duenas walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Lee checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Lee motions for Duenas to come forward. Lee throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Some bone on bone action there as Duenas checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Lee steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Duenas.
Lee lands a right hook to the body.
Lee misses with a straight right.

Lee chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Duenas lands with an uppercut that bounces Lee off the cage and back into range.

Lee throws a low kick but it's checked well by Duenas.

Lee ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Duenas feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Lees jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Duenas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Duenas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
