The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bicki tries to clinch up but Alvarez circles away and keeps his distance.
Bicki swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Alvarez moves into the clinch.
Alvarez lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Alvarez slips a nice elbow through Bicki's hands, connecting with Bicki's forehead.
Bicki punching from the bottom.
Bicki wants to get back to full guard.
Bicki tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Alvarez seems to be looking for submissions.
Bicki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alvarez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Alvarez passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bicki!
Alvarez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bicki is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Bicki looks gassed!
Bicki is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Alvarez has taken his back!

Alvarez punches Bicki on the ear.
Alvarez is landing with strikes. Bicki can't take much more of this.
