Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Muhamad Alli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alli comes into the arena with De la Souls, by POS blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Muhamad Alli! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mauricio Rua! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Viktor Lagutenko and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rua goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Rua scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Alli moves into full guard.
Rua throwing strikes but missing. Rua looking to sit in guard and control but Alli gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alli wants to control from the top but Rua keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Rua controls Alli momentarily but Alli frees himself.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mauricio Rua wasn't active enough on the ground. Rua circles away from the clinch attempt so Rua counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua wants to control from the top but Alli keeps moving. Rua throws and elbow that misses. Alli uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rua's guard. Nice move by Alli! Rua has control of Alli's left arm, preventing Alli from doing any damage.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mauricio Rua. Rua shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Alli defends it nicely. Alli tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alli fails to land with a series of punches.
Rua lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Alli shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rua as he jumps to the side. Rua lands a glancing blow to the side of Alli's head. Alli takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Rua leaves Alli with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Alli lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rua circles away quickly and effectively. Rua has managed to clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Alli throws an elbow but misses. Alli is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Rua pulls him back up using the underhooks. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Muhamad Alli. That's going to take a lot out of him. Alli is trying to push Rua away but Rua has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Alli creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alli is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Alli throws an elbow that misses.
Alli changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rua fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Rua gets a clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Alli creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Rua stops a takedown attempt from Alli.

Rua gets in close and instigates a clinch. Alli looking to slow down the pace here. Alli throws a punch but it's blocked by Rua. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alli tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Rua's elbow. With the fighters up against the cage, Alli throws an elbow but misses. Rua dodges an elbow strike from Alli.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mauricio Rua dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Rua swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Alli. Rua avoids a punch combination nicely.
Rua fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rua is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Alli.
It looks like Mauricio Rua has been cut. Alli will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rua moves out of range of the strikes. A combination from Alli does no damage. Rua is looking to chop away at Alli's legs. Rua throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Alli sees it coming and avoids it easily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rua scores with a decent looking hook. Alli misses with an uppercut. Rua avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. Alli misses with a straight left. Alli gets a clinch. Rua trying to stall but Alli improves his position.
Alli is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Rua has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Alli clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Rua not allowing Alli to control his hands. Rua punches the canvas rather than the man.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua throws strikes from the back but Alli rolls nicely and manages to end up in full guard. Nice work by Alli. Rua in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Rua is looking to work some ground and pound but Alli has wrist control. Rua pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Alli is keeping the position for now. Alli trying to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua sitting in guard, not really doing much. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Rua trying to move into half guard but instead Alli has managed to sweep! Rua looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alli is one step ahead there.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Muhamad Alli just wasn't active enough. Rua showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Alli.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rua throws a jab but it's blocked by Alli. Rua looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Alli blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rua. Alli is refusing to be controlled, as Rua sits in half guard. Alli regains full guard. Nicely done. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rua trying to control but Alli is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Mauricio Rua will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Mauricio Rua's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Alli looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mauricio Rua seems to be getting the better of the standup. Alli throws a series of punches but Rua moves out of range. Nice straight punches there by Rua. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Rua. Alli fails in his attempt to clinch. Rua dives in and scores a takedown into Alli's guard. Rua wants to pass the guard but Alli is keeping the position. Rua trying to control the position from guard on top but Alli is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rua must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Rua postures up in Alli's guard and throws a big left but Alli blocks it. Mauricio Rua has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Alli's head. Rua throws a strike but Alli rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Alli postures up.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mauricio Rua wasn't active enough on the ground. Alli has closed the distance and engaged Rua in a clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. Mauricio Rua is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Alli's defenses. Alli doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Alli has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Rua is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Muhamad Alli. That's going to take a lot out of him. Alli tries to land a knee to the head but Rua blocks with his arms.

That's four minutes gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Rua throws a body punch but Alli moves out of range. Rua throws the left hand but Alli avoids the punch easily. Alli misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rua.
Rua tries to close the distance and clinch up but Alli swats him away and circles back towards the center. Alli wants to clinch. A decent looking body kick lands there for Rua. Alli tries to clinch but Rua is having none of it. Muhamad Alli has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! A telegraphed right hand from Rua misses the target. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A thudding body kick lands there by Rua!
Muhamad Alli is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Alli misses with a straight right. Alli blocks a head kick by Rua.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Alli throws a leg kick that is checked and Rua counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Mauricio Rua comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Rua winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
