Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phill Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cross Odenkirk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cross Odenkirk is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Phill Davis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cross Odenkirk! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Odenkirk ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Davis moves away. A solid body kick from Odenkirk. Davis walks into a jab.
It looks like Phill Davis has been cut. Odenkirk clinches with his opponent.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Odenkirk. Odenkirk pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Odenkirk will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Odenkirk works over Davis's head and body with a nice combination. Davis gets the takedown into side control. Davis misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Odenkirk is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Odenkirk is refusing to be controlled, as Davis sits in half guard. Davis sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Odenkirk defending well though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Odenkirk is doing well to control the position and prevent Davis from advancing to side control. Odenkirk tries to roll over but Davis keeps him under control. Davis working the head and body with strikes. Odenkirk wants to get back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Odenkirk can do anything to dispel that myth. Davis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Odenkirk is staying active underneath Davis, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Davis prevents Odenkirk from standing back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Odenkirk desperately trying to maintain half guard. Odenkirk trying to hold on to Davis's head to control him but Davis postures up.
Davis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Odenkirk's head. Odenkirk is refusing to be controlled, as Davis sits in half guard. Davis not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Odenkirk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Davis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Odenkirk holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Odenkirk is in trouble now - Davis has advanced to mount! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Davis trying to control but Odenkirk is having none of it. Odenkirk is looking to improve his position but Davis isn't that keen on the idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Odenkirk hang on? Davis landing punches. Davis throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Davis looking to finish with strikes here!

Odenkirk wants to hold on but Davis pushes him away. Odenkirk tries to get back to half guard but can't. Davis moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Odenkirk has worked his arm free - good work by Odenkirk!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davis working the head with strikes. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! You can see the frustration on Odenkirk's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Davis is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Odenkirk is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Odenkirk prevents Davis from moving into mount. Davis trying to control the position but Odenkirk is working away. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Odenkirk wants to control but Davis postures up. Davis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Odenkirk keeps working. Davis scoring with punches from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Cross Odenkirk will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Phill Davis's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Odenkirk clinches up against the cage. Odenkirk pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Davis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Odenkirk as he avoids it easily. Odenkirk throws a combination. Davis tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Odenkirk drives through and clinches with Davis against the cage.
Odenkirk breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Odenkirk dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Odenkirk moves into the clinch. Odenkirk breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. This has been an exciting period of action! Nice body kick from Odenkirk. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Odenkirk punishes Davis's body with a nice straight punch. Odenkirk lands with a nice body punch.

Odenkirk takes the fight into the clinch. Odenkirk manages to break the clinch.

Davis takes a shot right to the bread basket. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Odenkirk throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Odenkirk's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Odenkirk throws a right and a left that both miss. Odenkirk lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Odenkirk takes the fight into the clinch. Odenkirk lands with a light punch inside.
Phill Davis's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Odenkirk working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.

Odenkirk's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Odenkirk digs a good body shot into Davis's ribs. Odenkirk's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Odenkirk duly obliges. Odenkirk drops Davis with a beautiful combination! Davis stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Odenkirk is looking for the KO!
Davis is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Odenkirk throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Phill Davis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Odenkirk takes the fight into the clinch. Odenkirk pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Odenkirk lands a right hook to the body.
