Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gustavo Diaz Ordaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sid Ney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ney has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gustavo Diaz Ordaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sid Ney! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ney throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ney looks gassed! Ordaz looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Ney tries to roll over but Ordaz keeps him under control. Ordaz is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ordaz perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Ordaz decides to stand and escape the position. Ordaz scores a takedown into full mount! Ordaz looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Ordaz wants to finish this one by submission but Ney is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ordaz. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ordaz looking to control and managing it successfully.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ordaz takes a little breather and maintains the position. Ordaz pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Ordaz controlling the pace for now. Ordaz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ney throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Ordaz lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Ordaz wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ney has him pressed against the cage. Ordaz tries to score a body lock takedown but Ney shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Ordaz is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Ney tries to pull guard but Ordaz holds him up against the cage and eventually Ney drops back down to his feet.

He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ordaz pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Ney tumbling to the mat - Ordaz dives into Ney's guard. Ney can't keep his opponent in guard - Ordaz advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Ney is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ordaz works his foot free and advances to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Ney tries to reverse the position but Ordaz maintains control. Ordaz sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Ordaz is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Ney is in real trouble.

Ordaz is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Ney has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. A bit of a pause in the action here. Ordaz controlling the positon.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ordaz landing with strikes. Ney is trying to stand back up. Ney is taking damage to the body and head. Ordaz throwing damaging strikes from the back! Ney could be in trouble here!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ney is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
