PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Smash Hitter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Louis Amador (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Amador has chosen D-Generation X 8th as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hitter closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Amador to the mat! Amador manages to get full guard.

Hitter drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hitter jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Amador trying to keep a closed guard but Hitter is proving a slippery customer.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Amador can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hitter drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hitter jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hitter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Amador swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Amador bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hitter's guard.
Amador throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hitter works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Amador escapes and gets back to his feet.

Amador throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hitter sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hitter shoots in but no luck this time.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

It looks like Smash Hitter has been cut.
Hitter is breathing heavily.
Hitter lands a nice looking body kick.
Amador throws a good cross that connects.

Hitter is rocked!
Amador jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Nice takedown defense from Amador. No joy for Hitter on that attempt.
Hitter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Amador.
Amador tries to clinch there but Hitter circles away.
Hitter ducks under a wild hook from Amador.
Amador doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Amador throws a lazy right hand but Hitter sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hitter moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Amador takes the fight into the clinch.

Hitter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hitter ducks under a wild hook from Amador.
Hitter lands a big uppercut and Amador crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Amador looks OK.

Amador is rocked!

It looks like Louis Amador has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Amador works his way to full guard. Good work.
Amador is still in real trouble! Can Hitter finish him?
Amador is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hitter scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Amador is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Amador not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hitter tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Amador prevents Hitter from standing back up.
Amador seems to have recovered his senses.
Hitter is not content to let Amador control the position.
Amador blocks the strikes from Hitter.
Hitter is trying to get back to full guard.
Amador working Hitter over with strikes.
Amador winds up and cracks Hitter with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Hitter tries to get to full guard but Amador has control of the leg.
Amador trying to mount his opponent but Hitter defends it.
Hitter throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Amador is trying to control the action in half guard but Hitter is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Hitter wants to improve his position but Amador is controlling well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Amador throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Hitter connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Hitter moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Amador is looking to clinch.
Hitter fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Smash Hitter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hitter scores with a spinning back kick!
Hitter slips under a jab from Amador.
A swing and a miss from Amador.
Hitter looks to land a left hand but Amador moved out of range nicely.
Amador lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Amador stuffs the takedown attempt from Hitter. Hitter gets slowly back to his feet.
Hitter lands with a right and another and another! Amador is in big trouble! Hitter lands again and this time it's lights out for Amador! A quality knockout there for Hitter.
