The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overeem closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Light looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Overeem working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Overeem cracks Light with a big right hand but Light just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Light is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Overeem really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Light. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Light trying to remain calm as Overeem controls from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Light takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
