Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Back Pack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Botello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Botello has chosen Bankrobber as his entrance music. John Botello has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Back Pack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Botello!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pack throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Botello tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Pack is in Botello's guard.
Pack postures up in Botello's guard and throws a big left but Botello blocks it.
Botello wants to get back to his feet but Pack is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Pack in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pack trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Pack thows a big elbow that misses.
Botello has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Pack throwing strikes but missing.
Pack throwing strikes from guard but Botello blocks nicely.
Pack has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pack throws and elbow that misses. Botello uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pack's guard. Nice move by Botello!
Botello must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

John Botello has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Pack has a takedown stuffed.

Pack shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pack showed some decent athleticism there.
Botello wants to get back to his feet.
Pack not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Pack throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Pack working the head and body with strikes.
Botello tries to roll over but Pack keeps him under control.

Pack missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Pack throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Botello is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Pack working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Packis looking to pass into half guard but Botello pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Botello is in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pack wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

OK we're going to have a standup here. John Botello hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Pack fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Botello avoids it really well and circles away.
Botello slaps away a takedown attempt from Pack, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Back Pack. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Botello counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Pack thinking.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pack uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Botello.
Pack misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Back Pack dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Pack avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Pack shoots in and drives through. Botello sprawls well.

Botello fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pack manages to avoid it.
Botello lands with an uppercut that bounces Pack off the cage and back into rage.
A slow jab from Botello misses its intended target.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Botello.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Botello counters with a slapping leg kick.

Pack walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Pack closes this distance looking for a takedown but Botello circles away.
Botello digs a good body shot into Pack's ribs.
Botello misses the shot to the body.
Botello lands a nice shot to the body.
Botello cracks the inside of Pack's front leg.
Pack drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Botello swings for the body but Pack moves out of range.

Botello lands with a right that hurts Pack. Pack looks to clinch but Botello throws a short knee that drops Pack. This one is all over!
