Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jorik Vartanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jared White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jared White will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorik Vartanov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jared White!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

White takes the fight into the clinch.
Vartanov can't break the clinch.
White misses with an elbow strike.
Vartanov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Vartanov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Vartanov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Vartanov just content to control the position.
White is looking to reverse the position.
Vartanov takes a little break here. White wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Vartanov scoring with punches from side control.
Vartanov creates some space and throws a big elbow, but White sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Vartanov in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Vartanov fails to land a wild elbow strike.
White tries to buck Vartanov off but Vartanov is having none of it.

Vartanov stands up and beckons White to his feet.

Vartanov looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Vartanov is figuring out what he wants to do next.
White trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vartanov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Vartanov dominating with strikes here.
White wants to control but Vartanov is having none of it.
Vartanov looking to control and managing it successfully.

Vartanov is going oldschool here, as he tries to force White to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so White shrugs it off.
Vartanov controlling the position easily from mount.

White is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Vartanov tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
White is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Vartanov lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Vartanov has isolated one of White's arms. White looking to fight him off but Vartanov twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
