The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Said uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Magalhaes.
Nice takedown defense from Said. No joy for Magalhaes on that attempt.
Kareem Said seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Said fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Said rushes Magalhaes and presses him up against the cage.
Magalhaes has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Said is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Said misses with a body punch.
Magalhaes takes a shot to the head.
Said swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Said cracks Magalhaes with a nice body shot.

Magalhaes pulls guard effortlessly.
Magalhaes is pulling down on Said's head to control his posture.
Magalhaes wants to sweep but no luck.

Magalhaes has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Said missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Said trying to control the position from guard on top but Magalhaes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Said displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Magalhaes.
Kareem Said has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vinicius Magalhaes.

Magalhaes tries to keep at a distance but Said has taken the fight into the clinch.
Said misses with a body punch.

Said has Magalhaes pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Said pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Magalhaes tumbling to the mat - Said dives into Magalhaes's guard.

Magalhaes has his foot on Said's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Said works his way back into a safe position though.

Magalhaes looking for a guillotine here but Said defends easily.

Said has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Said with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Magalhaes tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Said in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Magalhaes looking for a sweep. Not yet Magalhaes, not yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Magalhaes keeping moving, preventing Said from controlling successfully.
Magalhaes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Said is working Magalhaes over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Magalhaes is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Said trying to move into half guard but instead Magalhaes has managed to sweep!
Magalhaes wants to control from the top but Said keeps moving.
Magalhaes tries to free his leg and advance position but Said is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Said wants to sweep but no luck.
Magalhaes is looking to work some ground and pound but Said has wrist control.
Magalhaes loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Magalhaes passes into half guard.
Said desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Said blocking the ground and pound attempt from Magalhaes.
Said tries to get to full guard but Magalhaes has control of the leg.
Said is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Magalhaes's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Magalhaes's back!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Said trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Magalhaes just trying to survive but Said is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Magalhaes is taking damage to the body and head.

Said has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Magalhaes has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Said is landing with strikes. Magalhaes can't take much more of this.
Said is trying to stick to Magalhaes's back but Magalhaes is turning into Said. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Said's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Magalhaes.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Said manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Magalhaes on his heels. He'll look to pass Magalhaes's guard now, I'm sure.
