The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomi shoots in looking for a takedown but Masdival manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gomi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gomi misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gomi throws a right and a left that both miss.
Takanori Gomi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Masdival fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gomi manages to avoid it.
Masdival moves away from the strike by Gomi.
Masdival lands a high kick!
Masdival misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gomi looks to land a left hand but Masdival moved out of range nicely.
Masdival throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gomi.

Gomi throws a jab but it's blocked by Masdival.
Masdival lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Masdival dodges the punch combination from Gomi.
A head kick from Masdival lands but Gomi takes it in his stride.

The fighters circle, before Masdival throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Gomi's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Masdival lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
