PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Antoine Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mohammad Malik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Wallace might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Clubbed To Death by Rob Dougan. Malik has chosen Stronger as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malik shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Wallace counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Malik looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Wallace!
Wallace tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Malik is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Wallace has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Wallace!

Malik is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wallace stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Malik swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Wallace chips away with some ground and pound.
Wallace has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Malik escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wallace gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wallace lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Wallace is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Wallace slips nicely into half guard.

Wallace winds up and cracks Malik with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Wallace wants to take a breather but Malik is having none of it.

Wallace seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Malik has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wallace can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wallace is in close to Malik's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Wallace got a little sloppy there for a moment and Malik has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wallace has managed to get both his arms back between Malik's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Malik had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wallace defends it easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Wallace's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Malik is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Malik keeping moving, preventing Wallace from controlling successfully.
Wallace stands up over Malik, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Wallace working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Malik with a lazy takedown attempt
and Wallace rattles Malik with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Malik tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Wallace dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Malik stiff and motionless on the mat!
