Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Matador (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Haral Dir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haral Dir has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jack Matador's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Matador! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Haral Dir! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dir dives in and scores a takedown into Matador's guard. Matador wants to sweep here but Dir controlling him for the moment. Matador has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Dir throws and elbow that misses. Matador uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dir's guard. Nice move by Matador! Matador trying to control the position from guard on top but Dir is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dir avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dir can do anything to dispel that myth. Matador stopping the sweep attempt from Dir.
That's one minute gone in the round. Matador being controlled here momentarily. Matador throws a big right hand that misses. Matador trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Matador controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Dir shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Dir wants to control from the top but Matador keeps moving. Dir is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Matador is trying to control the position but Dir postures up. Dir trying to control but Matador is working from the bottom.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Haral Dir hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Dir fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Matador has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Some wild striking there from Matador.
Nice sprawl there from Dir as Matador shoots in. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dir is looking to slow Matador down with leg kicks. Dir thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Matador if he has to take too many more of those.
Matador is breathing heavily. Dir lands with an uppercut that bounces Matador off the cage and back into rage. Matador jabbing away but nothing is landing. Dir uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Matador.
Dir thumps Matador with a low kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Matador takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Dir connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Dir lands with a nice body punch. Dir fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Matador to the ground. Dir is now in Matador's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dir stands up over Matador, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Matador avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Dir trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Dir wants to control from the top but Matador keeps moving. Dir throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Matador works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Dir thows a big elbow that misses. Dir in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Matador will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Matador wants to sweep but no luck. Dir trying to stand up but can't free himself from Matador's guard. Dir controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Dir throws a strike but Matador rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Dir has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Matador off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Dir staying out of range there. Matador tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dir swats him away and circles back towards the center. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Haral Dir dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Dir shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Haral Dir seems to be getting the better of the standup. Dir throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Matador tries to clinch but Dir moves out of range. Dir lands with an overhand left. Matador throws a lazy right hand but Dir sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Dir gets a takedown into half guard. Dir trying to advance position but Matador counters by regaining guard. Dir throwing strikes from guard but Matador blocks nicely. Dir cracks Matador with a solid left hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dir stopping the sweep attempt from Matador. Dir gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Dir throws a chopping leg kick but Matador manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Matador tries to clinch but Dir moves out of range. Matador tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Matador tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dir swats him away and circles back towards the center. A shot to the liver by Dir. Beautiful body shot. Dir avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dir closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Matador to the mat! Matador manages to get full guard. Dir with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Dir throwing strikes but missing. Dir wants to stand but Matador has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dir trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Dir tries to stand but Matador is controlling from the bottom. Matador working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dir. Dir must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Matador avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Dir would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Haral Dir has got the better of the ground game so far. Matador preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dir distracts Matador with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Dir gets to his feet. Matador looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! A shot to the body from Matador misses and Matador takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Dir thuds his shin into the meat of Matador's side. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Dir scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Dir throws a head kick that misses. Dir shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Dir was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Matador can't escape the position.
Dir landing shots from mount. Dir pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Dir controlling the pace for now. Dir has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Matador takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Matador is wriggling around trying to escape.
Dir with good strikes from the mount here! Dir fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Matador is rocked! Dir postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Matador out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Dir goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
