The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Ivan Kurochkin and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harlamov shoots in for a takedown but Kovacevic shows good takedown defense.
Kovacevic tries to land a front kick but Harlamov steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Kovacevic missing with a left hand there. Harlamov was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Harlamov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kovacevic tries to avoid it but Harlamov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kovacevic to the ground. Kovacevic escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Kovacevic bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Harlamov's head.

Harlamov shoots in for a takedown but Kovacevic shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Harlamov looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Harlamov throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kovacevic tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Harlamov is in Kovacevic's guard.
Kovacevic pulls Harlamov in close to his closed guard and prevents Harlamov from doing any damage or advancing position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kovacevic lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Harlamov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kovacevic tries to avoid it but Harlamov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kovacevic to the ground. Kovacevic escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Kovacevic. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
