Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vasilij Petrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anton Toni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasilij Petrov could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Anton Toni's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vasilij Petrov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anton Toni! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Igor Prikhodko and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Toni tries for a takedown but Petrov sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Petrov shoots in and bounces Toni off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard. Petrov is in close to Toni's body, working some short punches and elbows.
It looks like Anton Toni has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Petrov throwing strikes but missing. Petrov decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Toni rushes Petrov and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Toni working hard to break the clinch. Toni jumps guard but Petrov stands there with Toni around his waist. Toni gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Petrov pulls guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Petrov throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Toni really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Petrov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Petrov trying to strike off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Petrov looking for a sweep. Not yet Petrov, not yet. Toni trying to control but Petrov is working from the bottom. Petrov looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Toni throwing strikes from guard but Petrov blocks nicely. Petrov has his foot on Toni's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Toni works his way back into a safe position though. Petrov manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Toni scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Petrov sneaks back into half guard. Petrov gets back to full guard.
Petrov throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Petrov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Toni is aware though and is defending well. Petrov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Petrov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Toni defends it easily. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Petrov is on top in guard.
Petrov wants to control from the top but Toni keeps moving. Petrov lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Petrov lands a couple of elbows. Petrov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Petrov keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Toni's head.
That has opened up Anton Toni's cut even more. Toni trying to keep a closed guard but Petrov is proving a slippery customer.
Petrov lands a couple of digs. Petrov drops back looking for a leg! Toni is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Toni manages to kick Petrov off! Petrov jumps back into Toni's guard. Petrov is pushing down on Toni's leg trying to pass to half guard. Toni is fighting to maintain full guard but Petrov has managed to sneak the leg through. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Petrov lands a nice short elbow. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Toni is looking for a sweep. Petrov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Toni can do anything to dispel that myth. Petrov working over Toni with some ground and pound. Toni looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Petrov lands a nice short elbow.
Toni is rocked! Petrov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Petrov works his way into full mount! Toni looks gassed! Petrov looking to control but Toni is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Petrov softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Toni is out cold! Petrov jumps to his feet and celebrates on the ropes with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vasilij Petrov!
