The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buonarroti Simoni dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Buonarroti Simoni fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gonzales manages to avoid it.
Buonarroti Simoni throws an overhand right that lands on Gonzales's shoulder, as Gonzales tries to avoid the shot.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
