Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tally Sedgewick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Beowulf Peredur! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peredur throws a body punch but Sedgewick moves out of range. Beowulf Peredur seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sedgewick ducks under a wild hook from Peredur. Peredur throws a right and a left that Sedgewick avoids nicely. Peredur getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Sedgewick doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Peredur looks to throw the jab but Sedgewick is out of range. Nice cross by Peredur. Peredur jabs Sedgewick to the body, keeping him at a distance. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Peredur leaves Sedgewick with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. A cross from Peredur lands. Sedgewick dodges the punch combination from Peredur.
Sedgewick shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Peredur as he avoids it easily. Peredur lands a nice shot to the body.
Peredur wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Sedgewick is breathing heavily. Peredur throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peredur throws a shot to the body.
Peredur ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Peredur throws a combination. Sedgewick tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Tally Sedgewick has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sedgewick takes a body punch but keeps moving. Peredur lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Peredur bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sedgewick's head backwards. Good exchange - Peredur coming out on top. Peredur drops Sedgewick with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Sedgewick looks back up at him and smiles so Peredur waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Sedgewick is rocked! Sedgewick leaves his chin hanging out and Peredur seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Sedgewick crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Beowulf Peredur!
