Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Forrest Gump (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Maesh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Forrest Gump has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Forrest Gump!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ray Maesh!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maesh misses with the combination.

Maesh shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gump manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Gump scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Maesh pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Gump back to the cage. Maesh follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Maesh rushes Gump and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Maesh drags the fight down to the ground.
Gump postures up in Maesh's guard and throws a big left but Maesh blocks it.
Gump stays in close to Maesh's body and controls the position.

Maesh working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gump doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gump manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Gump is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gump has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Maesh avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Gump.

Gump has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Maesh seems a little lost for a moment, as Gump dominates the positioning.
Gump wants to lay and pray for a moment but Maesh keeps working.
Gump is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Maesh's shoulder. That is not cool.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We're going to have a standup here because Forrest Gump wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Maesh moves into the clinch.
Maesh tries to stall but Gump uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Maesh ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Maesh no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Gump's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Gump lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Maesh has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gump can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ray Maesh showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Gump closes this distance looking for a takedown but Maesh circles away.

Maesh breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Gump has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Maesh regains guard immediately.

Gump slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Forrest Gump wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Maesh clinches.

Maesh has Gump pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Maesh pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Gump tumbling to the mat - Maesh dives into Gump's guard.
Maesh wants to control from the top but Gump keeps moving.
Gump wants to stand and escape but Maesh is having none of it.

Gump pushes Maesh off and scrambles back to his feet.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Maesh.
A head kick from Maesh lands but Gump takes it in his stride.
Maesh misses with a series of wild punches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Gump counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Maesh!

Gump lands a big shot there that rocks Maesh but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Gump is landing with some decent strikes but Maesh is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Maesh tries to lock up and control but Gump gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Gump pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
BOOM! Gump connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Maesh is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Gump in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Maesh wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Gump.
Gump pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Forrest Gump showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Gump has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
