PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Rodman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shamrock's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The World's Most Dangerous Man. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Shamrock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jordan Rodman!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shamrock closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Shamrock in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
The referee asks Shamrock politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Shamrock prefers to stall for the moment though.
Shamrock has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rodman wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Shamrock works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
You can see the frustration on Rodman's face as Shamrock controls the position.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Rodman throws Shamrock to one side and escapes!
Rodman fails to land with a series of punches.

Rodman gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Shamrock is stalling in the full guard.

Shamrock decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rodman, up you get!

Shamrock shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rodman napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Shamrock decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Ken Shamrock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rodman looks for a takedown but Shamrock sprawls well.
Jab, jab by Rodman - just one landing.

Rodman scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shamrock attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Shamrock connects with a good right hand that stumbles Rodman. Rodman circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Shamrock clinches up with Rodman and pushes him back against the cage.

Shamrock breaks the clinch.

Shamrock shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Shamrock was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Rodman is trying to stand up.
Rodman tries to buck Shamrock off but Shamrock takes his back!
Rodman wants to get back to his feet.

Shamrock sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Rodman taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ken Shamrock!
After the fight, Ken Shamrock was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
