Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Bazuski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcus Evans ! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bazuski leaves Evans with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. James Bazuski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bazuski shoots in but no luck this time. Evans changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bazuski tries to avoid it but Evans manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bazuski to the ground. Bazuski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Evans fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bazuski avoids it really well and circles away. James Bazuski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Evans . Evans scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Evans seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Bazuski wants to get back to full guard. Evans is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bazuski sees it coming and defends easily. Bazuski is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Evans scores with a couple of nice shots. Evans blocks the strikes from Bazuski.
This has been an exciting period of action! Evans drops an elbow to the side of Bazuski's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Evans connects with a nice short shot to Bazuski's temple. Bazuski is looking for a sweep. Evans is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Evans winds up and cracks Bazuski with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Evans landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Evans scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Bazuski is rocked! Evans working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Oh Bazuski is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Evans is nestled in close to Bazuski, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Evans scores with a big shot! Bazuski's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Bazuski! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
