Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Giaus Cassius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diago Beltran SR (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diago Beltran SR has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Giaus Cassius's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Giaus Cassius!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Diago Beltran SR!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Chad Campbell and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cassius closes the distance and clinches up with Beltran SR, looking for a takedown. Cassius pushes Beltran SR against the cage but Beltran SR circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Cassius scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Cassius is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Beltran SR is refusing to be controlled, as Cassius sits in half guard.

Cassius is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Beltran SR has managed to free his arm - good work.

Cassius working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Beltran SR doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Beltran SR manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cassius looking for a guillotine here but Beltran SR defends easily.

Cassius has an active guard here but Beltran SR has managed to pass into half guard.

It looks like Beltran SR is going to stand back up.
Cassius moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Cassius escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Beltran SR gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Beltran SR postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Beltran SR really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cassius. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cassius is on top in guard.
Cassius passes Beltran SR's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Cassius seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Beltran SR does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Beltran SR can do anything to dispel that myth.

Cassius is looking for a kimura but Beltran SR is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cassius to get the leverage.
Beltran SR is trying to stand back up but Cassius is controlling him
Cassius works his way into side control.

Cassius stands up.
Beltran SR stuffs the takedown attempt from Cassius. Cassius gets slowly back to his feet.
Beltran SR lands a with a good body shot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cassius fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Beltran SR lands a two punch combo.
Beltran SR throws a head kick but Cassius moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Giaus Cassius dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Beltran SR scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Cassius misses with a takedown attempt - Beltran SR sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Beltran SR connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Cassius is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Beltran SR is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

enabling Beltran SR to counter with a crisp jab.

Cassius shoots in and bounces Beltran SR off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Cassius drops back looking for a leg! Beltran SR is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Beltran SR manages to kick Cassius off! Cassius jumps back into Beltran SR's guard.

Cassius lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Beltran SR down.

Cassius tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cassius has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Beltran SR wants to get back to his feet.

Cassius in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Beltran SR is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
