Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexandr Holmogorov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Gibson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gibson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. swagger like mine kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexandr Holmogorov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, James Gibson! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Holmogorov gets caught napping as Gibson dives in and scores a takedown. Holmogorov manages to retain guard. Holmogorov looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Gibson gets to his feet - Holmogorov follows without any prompting. Holmogorov closes the distance and clinches. Gibson wants a takedown but no success here.
Holmogorov lands a takedown into guard.
Gibson wants to stand and escape but Holmogorov is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gibson working for a triangle but Holmogorov defends it easily.
This has been an exciting period of action! Gibson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Gibson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gibson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Holmogorov gets to his feet - Gibson follows without any prompting. Gibson wants to clinch. Holmogorov gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Gibson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Holmogorov keeping full guard, as Gibson tries to pass. Gibson pushing down on Holmogorov's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gibson working the head and body with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gibson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Holmogorov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Gibson is trying to work for a kimura but Holmogorov is defending well.
This has been an exciting period of action! Gibson is nestled in close to Holmogorov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Gibson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Gibson landing shots from mount. Gibson raining down hammerfists from mount. Gibson landing strikes, looking to finish! Gibson controlling his opponent. Gibson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Holmogorov has left one of his arms exposed and Gibson doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Holmogorov screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
