Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alan Mecier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Owen William (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alan Mecier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Owen William! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mecier misses the shot to the body. Nice sprawl there from Mecier as William shoots in. William is looking to clinch. Alan Mecier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mecier scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Mecier closes the distance and lands a one-two. Mecier misses the shot to the body. Mecier fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Mecier moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
William is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mecier bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. William is still on wobbly legs! Can Mecier finish him? William wants to clinch. William seems to have recovered his senses. Mecier cracks William with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Mecier connects with a body shot that sends William's belly button to the back.
That's one minute gone in the round. William on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Mecier moves out of range of the strikes. Mecier ducks down and throws a hook to the body but William moves away. Mecier scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Mecier lands a jab to William's midsection. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mecier cracks a nice hook into William's ribs. William looks gassed! Mecier shoots in and gets a takedown into William's guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. William being controlled here, momentarily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mecier's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Mecier wants to pass the guard but William is keeping the position. Mecier sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Alan Mecier. Mecier tests William's chin there with a solid looking shot. Mecier darts in and out, connecting with a jab. William misses with a shot to the body and Mecier counters with a big uppercut that knocks William off his feet! Mecier dives into side control looking to finish! Mecier moves into full mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mecier takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Mecier is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but William is surviving well by controlling Mecier's body position as best he can. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and William manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Mecier with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's four minutes gone in the round. William is desperately trying to improve his position but Mecier has a good base and remains in mount. Mecier takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! William tries to reverse the position but Mecier maintains control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alan Mecier dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Mecier scores with a crisp jab that stopped William in his tracks. Alan Mecier is winning the standup battle so far. Mecier dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Mecier works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Mecier fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging William to the ground. Mecier is now in William's guard. William is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Mecier sitting in guard here, content to control. Mecier drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and William dives on top into guard. Mecier looking for a guillotine here but William defends easily.
William must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. William is sitting in close to Mecier's body. Mecier has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! William is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, William is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Mecier.
