Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brutus Kolwalski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, James Durham!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durham throws a right and a left that both miss.
Durham keeps the fight on the outside.
Durham slips a jab and a cross from Kolwalski.
Kolwalski throws a left and a right that both miss

and Durham counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Durham is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Kolwalski might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Durham's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Durham decides to stand and escape the position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kolwalski closes the distance but Durham moves to the side

and Durham holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Kolwalski wants to break free but Durham has control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Durham wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kolwalski has him pressed against the cage.

Kolwalski breaks the clinch.
Durham fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kolwalski walks into a straight right hand from Durham.
Kolwalski has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Brutus Kolwalski has been cut.
Kolwalski is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kolwalski throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sloppy strikes from Durham. Those never looked like landing.

Brutus Kolwalski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kolwalski connects with a leg kick. Durham looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Durham throws a sloppy head kick and Kolwalski moves out of range easily.

Kolwalski misses with a double jab
and Durham counters with a series of strikes. Kolwalski will be more careful next time no doubt.
Durham sizes up Kolwalski with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Durham pushes Kolwalski up against the cage in a clinch.
Kolwalski keeps control of Durham as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Durham wants a takedown.
Durham is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kolwalski gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Kolwalski's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kolwalski avoids the head kick by Durham.
Durham scores with a crisp jab that stopped Kolwalski in his tracks.
Kolwalski tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Durham manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Durham misses with a series of wild punches.
Durham feints a jab promting Kolwalski to slip. Durham then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kolwalski slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Durham keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Durham misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kolwalski misses with a double jab
and Durham counters with a nice uppercut.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Durham tries for a takedown but Kolwalski sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Brutus Kolwalski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Durham.
A head kick misses from Durham.
Durham tries to bum rush Kolwalski with a series of wild strikes but Kolwalski uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Durham counters with a left and a right that stings Kolwalski.
Durham fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kolwalski doesn't manage to clinch there - Durham circles away.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Durham scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Durham looks to land a combination but Kolwalski avoids it well.
Kolwalski looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Durham dominated that round.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Durham clinches.
Kolwalski jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Durham walks away with a smile on his face. Kolwalski gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Durham throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kolwalski falls off balance throwing a combination
and Durham counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Durham avoids a punch combination nicely.
Durham throws a series of punches but Kolwalski moves out of range.
Kolwalski takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Durham goes for a small jab and connects. Now Durham goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Kolwalski stumbles back but Durham runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Kolwalski to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Kolwalski will ever be the same after a knockout like that.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). James Durham!
