Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Ddd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tatsuyo Hayate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ddd is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Hayate.
Ddd bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ddd moves out of range of the strikes.
Ddd tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hayate swivels and escapes.
Hayate lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ddd circles away quickly and effectively.
Ddd throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hayate's waist but Hayate gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ddd off to one side.
Ddd shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hayate counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joseph Ddd. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ddd drops his hands momentarily and Hayate takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Hayate ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ddd moves away.

Hayate bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ddd's head backwards.
Ddd uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hayate.
Ddd tries for a takedown but Hayate sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ddd takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Ddd keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ddd walks into a straight right hand from Hayate.
Ddd takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hayate stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hayate wants it to stay on the feet.

and Hayate counters with a left and a right that stings Ddd.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Ddd. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Ddd steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hayate.

Hayate is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Ddd had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Ddd drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Hayate ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Hayate connects with a body shot that sends Ddd's belly button to the back.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Jeez, Joseph Ddd's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Hayate drops Ddd with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Ddd looks back up at him and smiles so Hayate waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Hayate lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Ddd seems to have got his legs back now.

Hayate cracks a nice hook into Ddd's ribs.
Hayate connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Ddd's hands.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Joseph Ddd's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
