Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Haral Dir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clark Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clark Kent will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Haral Dir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Clark Kent!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dir gets caught flat footed, as Kent shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Kent missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Kent stands up and waves to Dir to follow him.
Kent slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.


It looks like Haral Dir has been cut.
Kent tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dir sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kent somewhat.
Kent fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dir avoids it really well and circles away.
Dir wants to clinch but Kent slips to the side

and Kent counters with a shoot takedown. Dir fights it but they end up in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kent throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dir works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kent wants to stand and escape but instead Dir has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Kent is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kent is trying to control the position but Dir postures up.

Dir makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Dir seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Kent gets caught napping as Dir dives in and scores a takedown. Kent manages to retain guard.

Dir controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Kent escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dir gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Dir throws a strike but Kent rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Kent drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dir dives on top into guard.
Dir in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Kent had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dir defends it easily.
Dir wants to control from the top but Kent keeps moving.
Dir connects with a couple of short punches.
Dir trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Dir scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Kent not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Dir loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Dir stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Kent closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dir circles away.
Kent shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dir defends it nicely.
Kent fails to land the takedown.

Kent stalks Dir and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dir's face. Dir staggers backwards, shaken.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Kent checks a leg kick.

Dir turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Clark Kent will probably get the nod.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Kent scores a takedown into full mount!

Kent is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Dir has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Dir!
Dir is stalling in the full guard.

Kent has his foot on Dir's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dir works his way back into a safe position though.

Kent wants to sweep but no luck.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Dir stops Kent from standing up.
Kent has momentary wrist control but Dir slips an elbow through the middle.
Kent preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Dir knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kent on the ground.
Kent utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Dir wants to control from the top but Kent keeps moving.
Dir throws a big right hand that misses.
Dir might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kent has his feet on Dir's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Dir shoots in for a takedown but Kent shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Dir defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kent.
Kent shoots for a takedown but Dir saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kent is breathing heavily.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Dir looks to land a left hand but Kent moved out of range nicely.
Kent blocks a leg kick.
Dir has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kent finds it's way round the side to connect with Dir's head.

Kent drops Dir with a left right combo! Kent follows him down to the ground into side control.


Dir is rocked!
Dir tries to buck Kent off but Kent is having none of it.
Oh Dir is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dir prevents Kent from moving into mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kent lands a strong strike to the head of Dir. That's dazed him! Kent looking to finish here. Dir is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Kent lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Clark Kent!
