4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jim Miller! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miller lands a glancing blow to the side of Silva's head. Silva decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Miller blocking the ground and pound attempt from Silva. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miller looking for submissions off his back. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Jim Miller has got the better of the ground game so far. Miller is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Miller lands a nice short elbow.

Silva is staying active underneath Miller, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Silva looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Silva is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Miller scores with a couple of nice shots. The referee warns Silva that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Miller is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Silva to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Silva shrugs it off. Right on cue, Miller cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Silva is rocked! Miller unloading with bombs! Oh Silva is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Silva is desperately trying to improve his position but Miller has a good base and remains in mount. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Miller scoring with strikes but Silva is staying in there. Miller loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Silva scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Miller land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Miller stands and salutes the crowd.
